Am I required to take a drivers education course if I am 25 or older?

Definitely! Though it is not required by the DPS, it is still a good idea to take an adult driver’s ed course if you have never received a license.

If you do choose to take this course, you get to take the written DPS test in the comfort of your own home, as well as getting a refresher on key driving skills!

You can find a more specific list of requirements for adults 25 and older here, but we’ve made a list to simplify the process below:

  1. 1. Pass our Adult Driver’s Ed Course (Optional)

    1. ● You’ll take your written test at the end of the course.

  1. 2.  Make an appointment to get your license at the DPS. There, you’ll:

    1. ● Take a road test

    1. ● Take a hearing and vision exam.

Note: If you choose not to take our course, you will need to take a written exam at the DPS as well.
