Eligibility requirements vary based upon your county of residence. All citations are initially submitted to the Fine Collection Center (FCC), regardless of where you live. Drivers in some counties are granted automatic approval by the FCC for a driver improvement course to dismiss violation points, and no other action is required; other counties require the FCC to route your citation to the court, and you will need to appear in person to request permission for point dismissal from the judge. (For a list of designated FCC counties, please visit the Missouri courts website.)
For FCC counties, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- You hold a valid, non-commercial Missouri drivers license
- You were NOT driving a commercial vehicle at the time of your infraction
- You have NOT taken traffic school in the past 3 years
For non-FCC counties, eligibility for point reduction is determined on an individual basis by your court, and is based upon your citation and your driving history. Generally, you will need to meet the following requirement:
- You have NOT taken traffic school in the past 3 years.
Please note: in non-FCC counties, permission is granted on a case-by-case basis, and is NOT mandatory.
